Every now and then you come across a city like no other. Cluj is full of interesting and intricate surprises, wonderful people, cozy places for a tasty bite and hidden urban jewels scattered across tiny cobblestone streets and  romantic alleys.

Food & Coffee in Cluj

Those who know me know that I am a morning person, in love with good coffee and always on the hunt for yummy brunches… and it looks like Cluj has got ’em all 🙂 You can always count on Bujole, Olivo, Roots, A la Tarte or Camino to save the day.

For a tasty lunch or dinner you can go check Casa Boema, Camino (again 🙂 ), Baracca or Da Pino; all these places are so cozy and nice, and the food menus will for sure suit everybody’s tastes.

Sightseeing & Atractions

If you want to step outside the box and go slightly off the beaten track, go grab a donut to go from Donuterie and enjoy a picture perfect sunset and a breathtaking panorama view over Cluj from the Belvedere point, on the Parcul Cetatuia hill.

If you crave for some green and quiet then go for a stroll in Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden, a place of vast reaches hosting a wide range of plant species. Make sure to check the exotic Greenhouse Complex and the Japanese Garden.

Last but not least, my favorite place on the outskirts of Cluj is the Moara de Vant Zoo Park, a hidden Animal Sanctuary deep beneath the wild hill tops, in Salicea village. Here you can feed and play with the tenants and make new friends, just be sure to carry along a generous bucket of carrots and corn kernels.
