Constanta – Little Stories by the Seaside

Free Spirit in Love with the Sea

As some of you may already know, I was born and raised in Constanta, a lovely jewel city by the Black Sea. But ever since I moved to Bucharest (my home now πŸ™‚ ) I started to love and appreciate it even more β™‘.

I’ll share with you some of the things I love doing whenever I get back home, since I know many of you also visit Constanta regularly.
As I am a morning person (unfortunately for my husband πŸ™‚ ) the first thing I usually do is grab my training gear and go for an early beach run, that provides me some serenity, relaxation and fills me up with joy and happiness. At the same time, I get my vitamin D from the sun and lots of healthy endorphins.

What follows next? Coffee of course β™‘ ! A good coffee is what you can usually call a great morning starter, and for me is either a cold brew (which I take along with me from Bucharest), best served along tonic water, or I go for a steamy latte / flat white from one of this two coffee places I enjoy visiting in Constanta – OM Urban Bakery or Haute Cup (the latter whom I love most). Sometimes the best choice is to grab a “to go” and head straight back to the beach.

On the other hand, if you’re into wild places and less crowded beaches, in the summer you can embark on a small adventure to Corbu or Vadu, two of the last virgin beaches by the Black Sea, places that I always enjoy for a good swim, some quality relaxation under the sun, or a romatic picnic in two β™‘.

For the more urban hunters there are lots of great things to see and visit in Constanta, as the Old Town Center (now in an advanced stage of rehabilitation), with narrow streets and old houses, the famous (but unfortunately neglected and abandoned) Casino – once a luxurious place and a real symbol of the city, also you can stroll along the seafront and admire the sea, visit the small Aquarium or have a bird’s eye view over the city from the top of theΒ Grand Mosque (Carol I).

Constanta – For The Gourmet

Looking for a place to have breakfast? You can try Crazy Cafe & Restaurant, in the center of the city. Nice design and dΓ©cor and plenty of choices on the menu.
By far – my favorite go-to food places in Constanta are the siblings Bacaro Port and Bacaro 2, the creations of Alexandra Soare and Alexandru Toader, two amazing places in Portul Tomis, where you can enjoy some of the best sea food, fish and pasta dishes, pizza and desserts in the city. Moreover, the view over the harbor is relaxing and soothing for the eye and the mind.

With all the nice dΓ©cors and attention to design elements, you can easily picture yourself as being far away in Greece or Italy β™‘. Great service, the owners are kind, helpful and always there to greet you, and if you are lucky you can also meet Frank – the Pug mascot πŸ™‚ A real check-in place for all the gourmets!

Constanta is a real complex and cosmopolitan city, with amazing opportunities for both the locals and the tourists.
