Street Food: Festival du Bonheur 🍴 Pour les Gourmands

The Greatest Urban Street Food Festival

Along with the regular spring fun, electronic music and jolly times, the 1st of May mini-vacation brings to Mamaia a brand new face of the Street Food Scene, featuring more than 40 food trucks and gourmet restaurants from all over the country.

Festival du Bonheur – Pour les Gourmands is set to arrive in Mamaia Nord between 28th of April and 1st of May, at Shut Up Beach, flagging one of the most awesome social food experiences ever displayed on the Romanian seaside.

From juicy burgers to novelty sandwiches, from fresh fish and seafood to tasty pizza & pasta, and from specialty coffee to healthy juices, here are some of the festival’s participants: Arrosticini, Burger Van, Camionetta – Neapolitan Pizzeria, Casa di Luigi Gelateria, Castelul Brutarilor, Dose Cafe, Duma’s VAN, Fritz-Grill, Furgoneta Street Chefs, GastroBeat, Gourmet Street Food, Grill World, Guido on Tour, Kaufland Grill Bus, Kotiga, La Nu Stiu Cine, Le Premier Constanta, Lupo & Co, M’eat, Origo Coffee Shop, Sardin, Smokin’ Pig,, Time In, VanFruct Specialty Coffee, Vice Cream and more.

I’ve sourced and tried out for you some of the flagship trucks and upcoming food joints and here are some of my favorite recommendations:

Vice Cream🍨

This tiny three-wheeled Piaggio Ape vehicle brings you some of the best Italian artisan ice cream and sorbet, made with no artificial flavorings or colors, also lactose and gluten free. For the daredevil in you, Vice Cream has a special surprise, the Panini Ice Cream, a warm and cold ice cream sandwich that will satisfy your sweet tooth. All natural and tasty πŸ™‚

Van Fruct Specialty CoffeeπŸβ˜•οΈ

I’m so happy that one of my favorite urban coffee shops will also be a part of the Festival du Bonheur, since specialty coffee in Constanta/Mamaia is so hard to find. Beyond the great coffee selection, always fruity-scented varieties, Van FructΒ boasts itself with a special variety of slow juiced drinks, based on carefully hand picked fresh fruits and vegetables, for your daily vitamin punch, juices which have lately become my new healthy obsession.

Smokin’ Pig πŸ–

This new-entry food truck will make it’s debut on the Street Food segment at Festival du Bonheur. Since i’ve met the guys behind this new urban food concept, and tried some of the carefully handcrafted and tasty focaccia porchetta combos, it has quickly become one of my favorite go-to sandwich places. The meat is smoked and slow cooked for hours and hours just to bring you the best in moisture, texture and taste. Try it along a cold brewski. Just Yumm!

Switch.Eat πŸ”

Already a classic on the gourmet burger scene in Bucharest, this amazing burger joint will also be featuring it’s juicy recipes in Mamaia Nord. If you’re not a meat lover, the place offers smart and tasty burgers for vegans, served along crispy golden french fries. Make sure you don’t miss them! πŸ™‚

I’ll see you at the festival, will sure check out more of the participating trucks and restaurants and i’ll wait for your feedbacks and opinions after you’ve made your own top lists.
